Cancer Care
“There is no evidence to show that acupuncture can help treat or cure cancer. But it can help relieve some cancer symptoms and side effects from treatment” (Cancer Research UK)
During my time volunteering with My Cancer My Choices, I had the privilege to treat many cancer patients, at various stages of their treatment. My own clinical experience and that of my colleagues, is that patients having acupuncture have seen improvements in cancer related or treatment related symptoms. These include:

-
Pain (research here)
-
Post-operative and chemotherapy nausea and vomiting (Research here, here and here)
-
Nausea
-
Hot flushes
-
Profuse sweating
-
Jaundice
-
Menstrual disorders
-
Constipation
-
Tiredness and weakness (fatigue)
-
Dry mouth
-
Breathlessness
-
Mental and Emotional Health
Most cancer patients agree that the stress and anxiety of being diagnosed with cancer can be overwhelming. As acupuncture is a holistic medicine, treatment will focus not only on physical symptoms but also on your emotional and mental health. Patients often report an improved sense of wellbeing.
